3 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 egg
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1 cup water (add gradually as needed)
For the Filling:
-
250 g ground beef
-
1 onion (grated)
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1 teaspoon black pepper
For the Sauce:
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
-
1 teaspoon ground red pepper
-
2 cloves garlic
-
1 bowl plain yogurt
-
Salt, to taste
Instructions
1. Preparing the Dough
Place the flour in a bowl and make a well in the center. Add the egg, salt, and water, then knead until you obtain a firm, non-sticky dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let rest for 20 minutes.
2. Preparing the Filling
Place the ground beef in a bowl. Add the grated onion, salt, and black pepper, then mix well.
3. Shaping the Dumplings
Divide the dough into 2–3 portions. Roll each portion out thinly on a floured surface. Cut into small squares and place a small amount of filling in the center of each square. Bring the corners together and pinch to seal.
4. Cooking the Dumplings
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the dumplings and cook for 10–12 minutes. Drain and transfer to a serving plate.
5. Preparing the Sauce
Mix the yogurt with crushed garlic and salt. In a pan, heat the butter and vegetable oil, add the ground red pepper, then remove from heat.
6. Serving
Pour the garlic yogurt over the dumplings, then drizzle with the butter sauce. If desired, sprinkle with dried mint or red pepper flakes.
Enjoy this comforting, homemade dumpling dish—perfect for family meals or special occasions. Bon appétit! 😋
